The neck is knitted in the round, from top to bottom in rib. After you knit the top, it is increased over the shoulders to form a saddle shoulder. The neck is then divided into front and back pieces. Each part is knitted longer, back and forth on the needles. This is a lovely and soft neck that can be used for about half the year! It is good on cool days at kindergarten and school, and out for a walk. As rib knit is elastic, this is a garment that the child can wear for a long time.
