This is a tight-fitting body that is great to have in the wardrobe for the little ones. The body is worked from top to bottom, in stockinette st. After the neckline, you make short rows in the neck and then increases around. On the yoke you purl one round where you then pick up stitches for the ruffle which is knitted at the end. After the yoke knit the torso. It is then divided into front and back pieces to make leg openings that are worked back and forth separately. Pick up stitches for the leg edges and knit at the end. Italian cast on and cast off is used to give fine edges that do not tighten. You can also make it without ruffles for a basic body with a round yoke.
