The mittens are knitted with garter stitch on the shaft and the rest in stockinette stitch. You increase to thumb-wedge and it's a right-handed and a left-handed mitt. The three smallest sizes are knitted without a thumb and are quite roomy in fit, while the larger sizes sit tight on the hands. The perfect mitten for little hands that is just as good for walks as it is for outdoor play. If you knit the mittens in untreated wool, they will felt a little after use.
